Weather Near Me is a UK blog that describes the effects of UK weather on everyday life. The blog features practical guides written in plain English to help readers of the blog understand weather forecasts, weather warnings and unusual weather events and plan accordingly for home, garden and travel, not to sell anything.
What you will find here
In addition to our guides on specific weather-related issues, we also look at general issues such as keeping your home warm and dry, your travel, money around the home, and other everyday tips and advice. We try to write in a step-by-step fashion with checklists where appropriate, and to provide historical context to features of the weather that we encounter on a regular basis. Finally, we have a main guide that would be a good starting point for new visitors to the site.
How our articles are researched
First, we try to answer the question that our readers would like us to answer. Then we check out reliable sources to write from. Where an article states facts about laws, rules, figures or safety issues, we provide a link to the source so that you can read it for yourself. Mostly this will consist of government and regulator websites, recognised trade and professional organisations, and published research. We do not fabricate quotes, statistics or personal experiences. If we cannot verify a claim, then it will not appear.
What we are not
Weather Near Me offers general information, not professional advice for your particular situation. Where a job needs a qualified professional, or where the rules depend on your circumstances, we say so. You can read more about how we choose topics, check facts and correct mistakes in our editorial policy.
